Hola Cougars, the Super Bowl is coming up and we should learn a little bit about it. First off, the Super Bowl is the championship of the National Football League, the first Super Bowl was played in 1967 and the Green Bay Packers won it. This coming game will be played on February 3rd this year. The day the game is played on is known as “Super Bowl Sunday.” A fun fact is that this day is the second largest food consumption day in the U.S. besides Thanksgiving. Last year the Super Bowl was the most watched television broadcast ever, with 111 million viewers in the United States. Because of how many people watched it, the commercial payments are the highest of all TV advertisements. The Super Bowl is famous for its funny commercials. This coming year be sure to watch for a Doritos commercial, they have a strong reputation of being quite humorous. The place of this event varies each year. So far, it has been held most in New Orleans, Louisiana, 7 times. You may want to know which team has won the Super Bowl the most. The Pittsburgh Steelers have won it 6 times and lost twice while in it. Our San Francisco 49ers have won it 5 times and never lost. That sums it up, I hope you get to see it this year.
